When you must cancel with someone at the last minute, an e-mail alone won’t suffice. As a professional courtesy, make every attempt to reach the person (in time) via phone, text and their support staff. The last-minute e-mail should only serve as a back-up.

This is a perfect tip, AND perfect timing! I sent an email yesterday to postpone a phone check-in today and just realized I didn’t hear back. This morning I read your post! So I’m going to call as soon as the sun rises or the rooster crows! Now why didn’t I think of that!!!!! thanks for your wisdom Steve;
